Decorative Laminated Glass
SSG® DuraSafe-Décor is a range of decorative laminated safety glass formed by two or more pieces of glass bonded together by a tough, durable interlayer under heat and pressure. SSG® DuraSafe-Décor offers a wide range of decorative interlayers to bring beautification into the equation while retaining the safety and acoustic benefits of laminated glass. It caters to a wide range of design possibilities by offering a wide array of colours, textures and finishes. Almost any look is possible, including graphic patterns with different colours on opposite surfaces, sandblasts, logos, custom colours, geometric designs, textures, metallic, chrome, tints, dichroics and full colour or gradation tone graphics. Here in SSG®, we have two types of decorative laminated glass, DuraTex and GlasImpression.
DuraTex is laminated glass incorporating paper or textile among the interlayers. It is ideal for use in designs that aims to portray elegance and grace as DuraTex upkeep the natural sheen of the fabric interlayer.
GlasImpression is laminated glass using other interlayers such as images, mesh and dichroic films. Scenic landscapes of photographic images can be created with dramatic effect in architectural glass settings presented in opaque, translucent, and transparent compositions. An exciting range of dichroic films offering various colour shifts are also available.
SSG® DuraSafe-Décor as a laminated safety glass minimises risk of injury by resisting penetration, all while offering endless design possibilities.
Design Versatility
SSG® DuraSafe-Décor brings graphics of depths and perspective to glass designs with the wide range of colours, textures, patterns and customised designs. With SSG® DuraSafe-Décor, virtually any designs can be incorporated into glass for a classy finish.
Light Transmission Control
The amount of light passing through the glass can be easily manipulated by adjusting the design and/or opacity of the image to create the right amount of shading for your environment.
Safety
SSG® DuraSafe-Décor, when used with a PVB interlayer, adheres to the interlayer when broken, hence reducing the risk of dangerous glass shards injuring people and damaging properties. In horizontal or sloped applications, it can prevent glass from falling out.
Acoustic Barrier
The dampening performance of the PVB interlayer makes SSG® DuraSafe-Décor an effective sound control product used in acoustic glazing. It keeps out unwanted noise from traffic, aeroplanes, lawnmowers, and power tools for internal peace and tranquillity.
Heat Insulation
The PVB in SSG® DuraSafe-Décor can reduce solar energy transmittance to reduce cooling loads.
Ultraviolet Screening
When used with PVB/SGP, SSG® DuraSafe-Décor screens out over 99% of the damaging UV rays (wavelengths 380nm and below), protecting interior furnishings, displays or merchandise from the fading effect of UV radiation. However, it allows the transmittance of visible light that is required for photosynthesis in plants.
